  • Dark red color, showing only slight development on the rim. Intense aromas of ripe plums, ripe cherry, some iodine, like freshly drawn blood from a scraped knee, greenness of a tomato plant, tobacco and dried herbs. Full on the palate. Still dominated by ripe plums and cherry, with some dried notes of prunes. Long finish with more complexity, mainly from notes of tobacco and herbs. The tannins are developed and very fine. Likewise is the alcohol very well integrated. This wine has developed nicely.

  • pairing perfectly well with gourmet and flemish beef stew, enough potential to last 5 more years, dark garnet, ripe red fruit, firm tanins, balanced well by good acidity, inky, oak, somehow dry(ing) finish, overall a very nice find

  • Bought a 6-pack for about 26/b twelve years ago from a local independent. Decanted with somewhat light sediment for its age. Dark purple; fragrant mature black fruit nose, some oak; mature black fruits, some pencil shavings, some oak, hint of greenness (actually pleasant) suggesting early harvest. Delicious. Stored horizontally in a cool, dark basement since purchase. My evaluation: I've stopped giving scores on a "100-point scale" as I've become less convinced that they can be meaningful to others. I use a 4-category scale (perhaps with +/-)--not including flawed--which runs outstanding/notable/drinkable/poor. I considered this notable+ when considering quality, age, and price.

  • An amazing cellar find. Still quite fresh for the age with leather and incest accompanieng dark berries. Can be drunk with pleasure over the next few years.

  • Sadly, last bottle. Still going strong w perfumey aromatics, excellent concentration and acid to balance.
