Blind home wine tasting with MOT Scoring sheet (At Home in the Cave): This wine grew on me significantly as the wine tasting and evening progressed. Good moderate tannin with a very light dustiness on the nose. There was initially a slight medicinal nose. Gave the impression of a moderate Bordeaux/Merlot. The unveiling showed it to be a Carmenere and I have never had a Carmenere like this as it was lacking the guava nose I normally find. THis is the first time I can understand as to why it was mistaken for Merlot for so many years. (Scoresheet 82)
