Continuing to improve and is drinking really really well with about 1.5-2 hours in the decanter. There is a lot going on in every facet of this wine. The primarily dark fruit is strong but dry --no confectionary notes. This has nice body/viscosity without being plodding or heavy due to the freshness from its acidity and fine tannins (which yield some minerality). Dark chocolate, leather and earthy notes abound and follow through on a long lively finish. Decent balance but all the parts are playing loudly. I think more years in the cellar will harmonize it all nicely.

Serious wine that needs serious air to come together. A lot going on here. Very tasty with lots of flavors and structure. Interested to see how my other bottles age. Drink with a 2-3 hour decant and a nice piece of steak (or dark chocolate with raspberry flakes!).

Bright aromas of black cherries, plums, lavender and licorice with notes of graphite and crushed rocks. Complex flavors of black and blue fruit with grippy tannins and a nice finish.

This is some serious juice. Almost ready but def better with a 3 hour decant. Strong smells, dark rich purple coloring. Fruit are primarily blue and blackberry. Tannins need more time. Graphite/mineral throughout. There is no doubt where the berries are from in St. Helena as you can taste Las Piedras and Dr. Crane. I am assuming that this will be much better on day 2. It's a memorable experience!
