Tasted in Hobart at the Astor restaurant. Had it with wallaby steak / duck breast. Still quite young: Darkest read, bordering on black; purple rim. Fragrant nose of dried cherries and just a tad of eucalyptus, good palate feel with tannins/acidity well integrated at first. Later the dusty tannins come more to the foreground. Drank well.

Appearance: black, dark garnet almost purple core with lots of legs. Quite opaque, full bodied texture Nose: cassis, blackcurrant, plum, spicy oak, cedary Palate: this is quite an intense flavoured cab sauv. First sip is fruit driven - cassis, blackcurrants, plummy. There's much savoury notes in the background, cedary oak, spicy herbs , maybe mint . Finish is long and tannins are abundant. However, bit too much spice for my tastes... alcohol seems to be unbalanced, perhaps needs more time for decanting or otherwise cellar in bottle longer.

Prince - Cabernets of the world (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): A little chocolate joins eucalyptus and blackcurrant, touch of cedar. Juicy acidity, chalky, drying tannins, slightly muted blackcurrant fruit, chocolate, cream, very slightly bitter on the finish. Hmm

Coonawarra Roadshow (Masonic Hall, Goulburn street): Slightly farty and reductive, blackcurrant, slightly dried plum notes, sweet spice, cedar, touch of eucalyptus. Juicy, medium plus intensity acidity, touch of sourness isn't off putting, slightly coarse tannins. Okay
