  • Translucent ruby in the glass, with an appealing nose that can best be described as "creamy" red fruits.

    The oak elevage is clearly present on the palate, but with the caveat that I am somewhat agnostic when it comes to oak, this isn't bad. Red fruited on the palate. I like the nose better than the palate - to be honest, this is not a style of Nebbiolo I buy much anymore (and I'm not sure how this bottle ended up in my cellar, but that is more a commentary on my shoddy inventory techniques).

  • 2 hrs in decanter. Beautiful medium ruby, clear and sound 85% opaque. Wonderful aroma that I can only describe as a stick of sweet cream butter rolled in truffle-filled mud. There's also a note like fresh corn husk and rubber ball. Palate is vibrant and fruity, dry and acidic, with very suave tannins. Nice endurance on the finish and all around, a joy to drink, (5+13+18+8) = 94 SOMETHING IN THIS STYLE WOULD BE VERY NICE TO RECEIVE AS A SECRET SANTA GIFT ;) - (see CT forum)

  • Aged 12 months in mostly new barrique. More of the spicy perfume and crushed fennel seed found in the '05 Langhe nebbiolo, but with a silkier palate, and biting acid. Dense and tight, with more penetrating, mouthcoating tannin than the Langhe nebbiolo. With some swirling fresh red currant and cherry flavors briefly emerge from the wall of tannin. Some obvious oak flavors show up on the finish.
