  palish red, touch browning. fabulous, ethereal nose kaleidescopes through fascinating changes in the subtle, classic VR spicy fruit with sublime nuances of flowers, all perfectly married into a lilting symphony of scents. incredibly refined and delicate flavours of like elements merge harmoniously and slowly fade into an enormously long, slow unravelling, tantalizing finish and after reverberations. not as amazing as a bottle drunk 10 years ago, yet still a perfect synthesis of its extraordinary components.

  One of my all-time top five Burgundies, and certainly the best 1947. Indescribable and I won't try. A perfect synthesis of the finest materials, a poem of the most intricate balance. Unanimous top choice of ten experts among twelve 1947 Burgs and Baroli on that table. Its donor was moved to acquire another immediately.
