Sienna color, bricking orange. The bouquet opens up to a high-toned, oxidized funk that tapers down to ripe, earthy notes of plums, cherries, and decaying leaves. The fruit on the palate is secondary to structure and maturity, with fine but sticky tannin, orange citrus and black tea flavors, and a dry, oxidized finish. Too much oxidation for me.

Mature, earthy, light, forest strawberries, fragrant and good typicity, dry but juicy, relatively potent 1996-structure; good length, dried fruit, undergrowth.

Cold tea and undergrowth; crisp but has depth and good core of sweet ripe fruit, some sève but slim and in a way dominated by the typical 1996-backbone; good spicy length. Now - 2010.
