This is one 2016 Brunello that's beginning to show signs of maturity with some color fading and a supple, layered texture. There is sweet dark cherry fruit with tangy acids and a fine mineral component on the back end. Hints of bitter chocolate and smoked wood-spice appear on the savory creamy finish. Drinking well now with food.

Drank last nite with the Kleins at Swoon Kitchen in Hudson. Nose of black cherries, spice and earth. Medium body, good amount of black cherry fruit and spice up front. Tannins are evident, tho not overpowering. Earthy and more savory than I anticipated, with some minerality and good acidity level. Also, a smooth, fairly long finish. A well-made wine, that's probably got a good future ahead. I'd wait a few years to drink again.

Still needs time. Hard to say how long. To some degree reminds me more of a Gevrey Chambertin than a Brunello
