Enjoyed w/ roasted tomato soup and white cheddar, honey baked ham, fig and orange jam paninis. The wine was dark blackberry and cherry fruit, big and robust. Really went well with the food.

Consistent with my last note, this shows a sweet red/blue fruit profile with hints of burnt caramel. It has not been my favorite Andrew Murray to date. Did the roasted slope bit have to be so.....literal?

Some age showing in the color. Nose of sweet cola, blackberries and kirsch. Palate shows same and then some; nice warmish blueberry tart w ith a hint of cinnamon, river stones, some flintiness and tar with a ever so small hint of steamed meat. This really performs well above expectations. It has a fully resolved tannic structure with some really lilty acidity. Long and pure, if I had to find a flaw, there may be a hint of heat, may be. Fifteen dollars never went down so....easy. BIG difference from my last bottle purchased at the same moment....BIG.

1994-2004 Andrew Murray Syrahs (Bi-weekly Blind group tasting): Groups #6, my #3
Nice nose but I can not place it, slightly perfumed.
Flavors of blackberry, pepper, oak, coconut.

Tasted a bit long in the tooth. Fruit was drying and cedar was emerging with a tartness that lasted through the finish. drink up.
