A very pleasant surprise and big WOW for this Syrah from Morocco. Nice ruby colour in the glass. Aromas and flavours of cherries. Paired well with bacon macaroni & cheese. 13.5% alcohol.

Sauvage and feral notes dominate the nose upfront with gamy nuances and grilled meats. Undertones of wild fruits, bruised mint, shisha, Ras el Hanout, white pepper, desiccated flowers and hints of smoke and volcanic earth. The palate is medium bodied in frame with juicy acidity and moderate easy tannins. Flavors follow the nose with gamy and meaty notes followed by notes of plum, wild berries, herbs, spices, shisha, mint tea and hints of smoke and earth. The finish is moderate in length. 89/90

Well done Morocco! Syrah of excellent quality. Clean, blackberry, earth, meatiness, blood, and a fruit grip of tannins to last. $20 at RWC K&L, as seeing this with Graillot's name was the clincher to buy, to taste.
Yum wine. Can't go wrong here. Unique and from where almost no one expects such goodness in Syrah.

Rich and concentrated, but extremely feral in nature, with an almost inordinate amount of hung game character. This has Syrah varietal fruit, and excellent clarity, and drunk well with a smoked and grilled tri tip beef, but on its own, this is not totally enjoyable. Made by Alain Graillot, the wine does not resemble the Croze-Hermitage that made his name.

Syrah from Morocco. Pleasure to meet. Rustic and chunky, but fresh and fun. A whole lotta cherry and milk chocolate, black magic marker accent.
