  • Opened, poured and let sit 1/hr. Then: Nothing much on the nose. Taste initially is very faint darkish fruit, almost "watery". By the end of the glass, it has put on a small amount of weight and is light-watery. Tannins and acidity OK. Balance OK. Hard to believe a bottle of red wine could have so little taste. Nothing particularly "off" about this, just no particular to drink it.

  • Too acidic, tannin OK but overpowered by the acid. Lighter body than expected.

  • All the wines now have Diam cork to it. She feels that Diam makes the wines slightly reductive and that the wines need to be opened up a bit. Here, maybe just a touch of reduction but certainly very clean and pretty fruit, and not without depth. Some stainless and concrete here, and that depends on the parcel. Indeed, has some gumption to the palate. Sees 2 - 3 pass barrel from the higher wines just to round it out. They want very drinkable and fruity. Not light but can be drunk by itself. Indeed, it nicely hits that spot.

  • Dark ruby. Light fruit notes. Ripe fruits, spice, light vanilla. Rounded on the palate. Soft tannins, good acidity. Classic bordeaux. A straight forward wine done well, pleasant to drink over a meal.

  • Tasted blind, this Bordeaux blend of Merlot and Cab Sav was a deep ruby color with thin legs. Medium (-) intensity nose with aromas of red cherry, red raspberry, wet wool and purple grape- I found it to be very youthful and simple. (Plus disgusting). The palate was dry with medium acidity, medium tannins, medium alcohol and light bodied. Medium (-) intensity flavors of the above led to a medium (-) finish. I called this wine poor but was corrected to- acceptable; a point for balance was deserved(?). This wine is to be drunk now, not suitable for aging. I did not care for it and was surprised that I couldn't even get the varietal right. For me this $14 wine gets 84 points with a 1 star rating.
