Tasting this takes me back to the vinyard overlooking the Douro. And it still tastes as good as it did then. Packed full of complex red and dark fruit with really good length - just love it!

From 75cl, DIAM5 closure, decanted 1 hour. Dark purple fruit, velvety texture, well balanced sweet /rich/acid. Big wine, but very moreish. Terrific value. Drink now. 89P

Deep purple colour, black cherry and earthy nose, with a final touch of bay. Black Forest gateau in the mouth, smooth fine tannins, and a good amount of liquorice give a great length. Last bottle we had was at the Quinta, overlooking the Douro, memories associated with that experience came flooding back.

Medium intensity on the nose with black cherry, black plum, blackberry, licorice, black currant leaf, mint, smoke, medicinal notes, clove, earth, iron, meat and prune. Developing.
Medium intensity and dry on the palate with chocolate coming through. Medium body, medium plus acidity, medium plus tannins, high alcohol, medium finish.
Can drink now but has potential for aging. Unlikely to improve much though - has the structure but not enough fruit intensity for long term aging.

Similar to the 2018 so my note is similar. Deep red, excellent nose showing spicy dark fruit. It showed a variety of rich dark cherry and plum/damson fruits as it opened with an attractive spicy ‘sweetness’ and good balance, tannins, and length. As before, given an hour to open it was a lovely drink on its own but also excellent with food. Developing nicely. Good value in UK.
