  Quite greenish vibrant Chianti Classico, made from a Sangiovese based blend with some Merlot and Syrah, aged in Slavonian oak and stainless steel vats. Medium+ ruby colour. Medium+ intensity aroma of cherries, steel, leather, dried tomatoes, smoky and nutty hints. Medium body, bright and full of energy, pronounced sour cherry character, high acidity, medium greenish tannins.

  A bit of raspberry liqueur on the nose, fruity with a hint of coffee at the end. Worked well with a beef roast with parmesan and cream gravy.

  It’s been a while since I’ve been pleased with a Chianti. There’s nothing fancy about this but it’s a satisfying match to sausage and veg pasta, a bit earthy, a tad bitter on the Finnish.
