13.5% abv. A little acetone note on the Pnp, but this mostly blew off fairly quickly. The vintage showed prominently here, with lush, ripe fruit, almost liqueur-like. Very fleshy with lots of suspended particles with a succulent mouthfeel. Not a typical Chianti Classico for sure, too rich and not enough acidity - really quite new world, but with a little Italian flair to it. Enjoyed this with lasagna. In any case, this is not falling apart, for sure, but is in the very ripe spectrum.

Dark inky garnet color with some sediment. Nose was flat with faint floral and berry notes. Paired with pizza with spicy pepperoni and sausage this wine held it 's own. The only drawback was the wine and the saltiness from the pizza caused the tannins on the finish to clash somewhat. On its own this Chianti was very fruit forward with some some watered down earthy notes. It did seem to lack depth and some of the spice and bite which I would normally associate with a Chianti, this may be due to it being towards the end of its drinking window. Some chewy tannins on the back sides of the tongue made for a nice medium-length finish.

Perfect drinking window. Still will last a few years though. Fine tannins and an earthy flavor. Smell reminded me of old grapes that had dried up on the vine, which i picked in Tuscany two years ago. Excellent food wine.

WOW !!! Absolutely stunning!
Full on nose of black and red berries, cherries .. full of fruit right out of the bottle! Smooth tannins but still able to pack a punch!
Absolutely the best Chianti I have ever tasted ... almost imitates a 2003 Tignanello with the fruit ... Unreal!
Seriously a 94-95+ out of 100 ... I have never rated a Chianti this high. Again stunning ... worth the wait .. last bottle unfortunately!
Paired with pasta, salad and garlic bread.
Final score 95!
