It started very fruity and plummy, showing its high merlot. With time and days, the Cabernet slowly emerged, which improved the wine. There’s quite a big difference in amount of cab between this wine and La Croix.

Leafy, spicy nuances with red fruits and tobacco nuances are all over the place here on the nose and fresh, fruity palate. This is ready to go. You can think of it as a baby Ducru Beaucaillou, as it is essentially the third wine of Ducru. Drink from 2023-2031. Drink from 2023-2032.

The Petit Ducru shows red and black fruit in a soft, open, and expansive style. Lush palate yet not fat, lovely finish. This contains fruit that didn't make it into the grand vin or Croix plus fruit from the vineyard formerly labeled as Lalande Borie (no longer made as of 2018).

Tobacco, spice and red fruits come forward easily. Medium-bodied, soft, supple, fresh and forward define this wine. This charmer is already a pleasure to drink, you can think of it as a baby Ducru Beaucaillou, as it is essentially the third wine of Ducru. 90-92

Very deep Dense and very ripe nose of blue and black fruits. Compact and sweet. Dense on the palate, has plenty of oomph and concentration, but does lean up a touch. Raspberry yoghurt! Good energy and tasty.
