Subsequent notes on this wine from close to a year ago. Pale golden yellow in color with a very fine & constant mousse. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of apples, citrus notes of lemons/limes with overtones of floral & yeasty notes, almonds, stony/chalky, minerals & a hint of toasty oak. Medium light bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of apples & citrus notes of lemons/limes with yeasty/toasty, stony & minerals. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present & is currently showing brilliantly although it should develop further with additional aging.

Needs more air time than I’d given previous bottles, which I underrated. Comes together with harmony, pungency, and detailed expression but needs an hour open to do so.

Brioche and apples and flowers on the nose. Ephemeral mousse but plenty of effervescence on the palate. Plenty of acidity and chalk envelop a core of fruit. Much more approachable than the 2014 Roederer Vintage Brut. The finish goes on and on.
Disgorged April 2021

PNP. Pale golden color. Honeysuckle, sweet onion marmalade, and gingerbread. Vibrant, lasting acidity. Somewhat coarse bubbles. More savory than a typical Champagne, but very nice nonetheless. Enjoyed this with my scientific hosts at a great wine bar in the newer part of Montpellier.
