From magnum. Honestly, kinda meh. This is not, as I had feared, falling apart: it still has decent balance and fruit, and tannins are soft. However, it’s also fairly boring: nondescript red fruit, not much lift, not memorable. And it’s not just me: at a walk around tasting, with a few guest bottles thrown into the mix, I noticed this one (my contribution) was the least drained bottle of 4. If you’re in the mood for a Ferrari — or even a Miata — this is an Altima. On cruise control. Score: 89. Relative to expectations: -

Tasted at Vintages Napa Valley Rocks seminar. Medium ruby colour, good legs. Nose of cassis, blackberries and cedar. Smooth, full mouth feel with blackberries, black currants, vanilla. Round, velvety tannins with a medium length finish. Not a whole lot of secondary characteristics were evident.

Beautifully aromatic- black cherry and cedar. This is rich, ripe, and plush. The tannins are fully integrated. Well balanced. I'm not usually a Right Bank blend fan- but this was quite nice.
