Stewed strawberries and raspberries on the aroma. Stewed strawberries dominate the flavor. Tannins are medium-plus. Acidity and body are medium/medium-plus. Overall, this is pleasant wine that is tasting better than my last bottle.

Plums and strawberries with notes of roses. Mouthfeel and acidity are medium-plus. Tannins are are high. Overall, its a pleasant Gigondas that tastes good now, but will get better with age.

Les distinctive than my very favorite vintages of Cayron, the 2020 is clean and varietal and at this stage, very drinkable. It should age well but I think is unlikely to develop the wild, hedonistic bouquet that this producer achieves in the best years. I’m guessing that one of the grapes normally included into their blend was knocked out by the spring frosts in 2020, but this is purely conjecture. 89 now, should reach 92 in five or six years.

Reviews say to let rest but I did a pop and pour and enjoyed. Jammy, tons of fruit. In balance now, ready to go.
