Dallas CTers visit NYC offline: I was excited to see this wine come out the bag as it is always delicious and is no longer made. Tonight was no exception. The fruit here is deep and dark and I also get notes of dusty tannins, cracked black pepper and dried leaves. It tastes and smells like a Tuscan wine to me - sunshine and cypress trees. Really nice!

This wine was really drinking perfectly. Pnp'ed and had it against an '01 and an '05 Suolo (also drinking '78 Solaia, '00 Tiganello, '03 Valdicava, and a Sassicaia just off the top of my head). This was one of my favorites of the night. Rich red berry flavors, great balancing earth characteristics. Very tasty.

Always love Suolo and this one is no different. It's still the best Sangiovese I've ever had. We pnp'ed. Thought perhaps with 11 years the wine might be more advanced, but it's young tasting. Lots of blackberry and bramble flavors. Some earth. Very nice, but needed more time to come together. Wish we had opened and decanted for a bit. Wonderful.

Best sangiovese I have every tasted. Beautiful after 1 hour decant. Tasted some remaining the next day after 24 hours open to air and almost just as good.
