Color: Pale golden wheat Nose: ripe tropical lychee Palate: acidity but wow hit of fruit core right up front, lychee soda. Totally coats the mouth. Some minerality in the background but sweetness up front. Delicate petrol. After some time, acidity really pops and some sweetness/fruitiness blows off. Sweet, tart lychee lemonade and sour lemon/grapefruit candy. Long finish.
Going to stash my other bottle for a while -- this is very sweet and very tart, almost too much so on both dimensions for my palate.

From Coravin. Pale straw, clear. Distinct riesling tinge of tdn, but very subtle and subdued by perfumed jasmine florals and lemon zest. Palate is super clean, bright and airy, with intense spearmint, tangelo and lime cordial. Amazing length, purity, well balanced. Vibrant.

Continuing to work through my 2021 Falkenstein wines, before I hide them away in the cellar. I found myself with this crazy delicious bottle of zippy Spätlese that was absolutely chugable. It took all of my questionable self discipline to take my time and enjoy this over the evening. This bursts from the glass with juicy apples, and sweet herbs. There is a wonderful melange of citrus ranging from tangy tangelos to pink grapefruit and then a creamy note that reminded me of lemon curd. A slightly exotic note of golden gooseberries tells you that this in fact a Spätlese, but then the bright acidity and sensation of fresh ginger infused mineral water reminds you that this is a Spätlese from Falkenstein. The fullness of fruit that you get from Förster is such a wonderfully playful match for the bright elegance of the 2021 vintage.

Beautiful nose - crisp lime, green mint and peas and herbs, powdered sugar and a bit of vanilla cream, powdered stones Crisp and airy. The palate is similar, not as perfumed as the nose but quite potent. Enters balanced with some sweetness Lime and peach. Then we get lime peel, lots of mineral and stones, very good acidity but the zestiness of the end palate is off the charts and drives though the finish. Tons of lime and dusty minerals. Excellent and exciting. Nose - 5.5/6, Palate - 5-5.5/6, Finish - 5-5.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 17-18/20.
