  • Columbia Dinner at Tiro A Segno: Decanted for about 30 minutes but definitely benefitted from more air as the tannins softened and the wine gained some color and body. May do best at this time with a 90 minute decant. Notes on the medium bodied palate of red cherry, raspberry, plum, earth, along with some sour cherry, herbs and cedar. The acidity is relatively balanced, and the tannins are relatively integrated (both depend on the decanter time). Will continue to develop in the cellar.

  • The 2018 Terre Nere Brunello di Montalcino is a wine I never heard of. It is a darker almost light brown wine. A better nose than in mouth flavor. Pure aromatics of cherry and cedar wood. In mouth huge tannins and a closed wine. Why the rush to show a wine clearly built for aging. Generally lovely future here but aside from herbal notes and a complex wood background, the wine shows little fruit. Dried cherry fruit at best which shows sweetness. A better wine in the future. I a man scoring this with the potential for improvement but don't open this now.

  • Overly ripe and alcoholic. Not my style.
