Feusselottes theme lunch at Sinai. Tasted blind. Drank in Grassl Cru. Appearance is clear, medium intensity, garnet colour. Legs. Nose medium intensity, with aromas of dark undergrowth, earth, some brooding underlying fruit. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of red plum, dark red cherries, undergrowth earth, sweet dark spice, dark minerals. Very long finish. Very good quality. Something tells me this vintage is still going strong, and currently still in a somewhat awkward stage of development. Wow turned out to be older than 2001 vintage of this wine in the same flight.

CNY dinner (Beijing 1 @ MBS): My first Gibourg... Overall, a very soft, feminine and rather light-medium bodied drink. A bit of violets on the nose. Somehow, I found the palate to be a bit "monotonous" (or boring), although it was certainly silky and elegant. There was no "highs", just generally a pleasant drink... I believe it can still hold/age, but doubt it has the necessary stuffing to improve much furthur, so drink up...

magnum, with lots of aged notes. Earthy and light red fruit.

Mugneret-Gibourg Chambolle-Musigny les Feusselottes Dinner (The Bristol - Chicago IL): Served single blind in 93/96/99/01 flight. All red fruit with plenty of spice but most backward of the the flight, making me wonder if it was a ringer. Last taste was certainly the best. 90 points tonight, but 91-92 point upside.
