Aromas of black cherry, Forrest floor and white truffles. Plate shows dark cherry, sandal wood, mushrooms and a hint of sweet cherry tootsie roll (chocolate like- in a good way). Decanted 1 hour. Tannins are fine and well integrated st this stage. A real treat.

Very tart when first opened. However after 90 minutes of decanting it really mellowed out. The color is fading to a reddish brown. On the nose an inviting aroma of rose petals, dried fruit, caramel, and truffle. Medium bodied. The palate does not bring the same depth when it comes to flavor. Good showing from this tough vintage.

This Barolo is still tasting pretty young. There is lots of fruit, leather and tobacco but it is wonderfully blended. Finish is smooth and long with light soft oak and tannin. This wine has several years to go...drink now to enjoy the fruit and power or drink later and I expect you will be rewarded by additional finesse and elegance.
