  cork was intact. no penetration. on initial pour the color seems somewhat faded with excessive transparency. the wine appeared to be slightly oxidized and fragile. after 30 minutes of air these characteristics blew off and the wine came into its own. faint residual tannins. lovely bouquet. everything in balance. tastes of plum, raisin and a little tart cranberry. excellent product for a wine generally made in a light style and from an off year. perhaps cought it just in time. i am extending the drinking range for the benefit of other bottle owners who can certainly enjoy the wine through the holiday season.
