I have not had a bottle of this in several year from my cellar but have fond memories that were not disappointed. I had read about pairing stone crabs with Assyrtiko (Santorini-Greek white) which I am very familiar with having been to the island but more importantly, having being married to a Greek for 30+ years. I was going to purchase such a wine but thought I have to have something that can work and this wine came to mind. As I cracked my stone crabs (delivered from Joes-Miami!), I poured a glass and was thrilled with my choice. Herbs, minerality, floral scents with a deep golden hue......

Just a gorgeous, perfumed Gewurtz made by perhaps the best producer of this tricky grape on the west coast. This tastes more forward than other vintages I've had so it"is drinking well now and is loaded with rich but balanced flavors of lychee nuts, peaches and green melons. Finishes with a gripping spiciness that counters the mouth-watering acidity. Just a great food wine.

Some what simple, with white & pink grapefruits, peach & apricot nectar, and baking spice on the nose & palate. Little of the typical Gerwurtz. bitterness. Dry with med+ acid.

Aromatic nose of white flowers and honey followed by tropical fruit, lychee, papaya. Not bad.
