dark magenta, in color. cherry, campfire, forest floor, berry, on the nose. blackberry, blueberry, spice, oak, on the palate. good nose. medium acid, on the finish.

from memory. popped and passed thru vinturi. even so left it in decanter for a couple hours. color totally opaque dark garnet/purple. nose intense, palate rich and full, and everything was is perfect order. don't know that i would have guessed this as charbono blind but i did enjoy it. this will go for a long time. thanks brian.

Slightly corked? I'm not sure. Popped and poured, consumed over 3 hours but it really took 60 minutes before some weirdness blew off. Funk, black fruit, coffee, earth and so much more on the nose. Taste is dark and smooth and luscious with flavors of blackberry, tar, leather, with a slight bitter tea component on the finish. Really well balanced and exceptional after being open one hour.

So glad I have more of this coming. Perfection with a grilled glazed pork tenderloin and mushroom risotto. Smoke, tar, leather, all northern Rhone goodness. Except in a charbono. Aging beautifully beyond belief. Just keeps getting better as my scores indicate.

This just keeps getting better. Loads of cherry, smoke, leather, and herbs. An amazing wine that show no sign of slowing down.
