big billowing nose of apple jelly, peach jam, sweet orange and grapefruit, vanilla, honeysuckle, bay leaf, clove, resinous herbs...
full and textured, layers of fruit, flowers, herbs, spice.... deep mineral line, powerful acid structure, balanced and intense, complex and engaging, coats the palate and lingers with pure flavors very long, what a wine! stupendous stuff!!!

During a MOT masterclass by Stephan Reinhardt to celebrate the first Swiss 100 point wine by Marie-Thérèse Chappaz who was in the room. Chappaz has been doing things differently in bulk wine Canton Valais and pushing quality and boundaries. It was great to see he succeed with the scores as well. As she explained, Marsanne is one of her favorite grapes. It makes a wine of texture and not acidity, elegant, aromatic floral. TN: the 2019,2020 and 2019 were very similar with the 2019 being the lightest one.

Masterclass with Stephan Reinhardt and Marie Therese Chappaz (The Dolder Grand, Zurich): Glass: Stölzle Universal From a 1h parcel planted in 1924 located between 500-600, height. Harvested in early September. Medium golden color with a grey hue. Off-dry, medium acidity, 14,5% abv makes the wine a bit hot. Fine flavours, very chiselled, some honey, salty, spicy, deep, rich and powerful, but also very elegant. Very long finish. 93-94+
