Beautiful nose, very nutty and buttery at this point because it's obviously very primary. Slight reduction to begin with. Mouth is not quite balanced at this point but you can see the potential of this become a masterpiece.

Either this bottle was a little off, or it is just too young. Some hints of trademark spearmint and green fruit. A little watery and a touch cloudy. Never really opened. Dang the bottle variation! The ‘16 Ruchottes is really shining (LOTB 95 pts). Score withheld.

It is loaded with sappy orchard fruits. There’s some aniseed and spearmint too. The palate has so much flesh, and a rigid mineral spine that is buried for now. It has Grand Cru weight and power and draws in, to a precise finish, then drives on and on with delicious fruit and mineral flavours.

Chassagne Ruchottes / Vosne-Romanée Grand Cru tasting (Groot-Ammers, Netherlands): Incredible expression and finesse, marvellous purity and effortless ease, floral and lifted, ultra-refined bitters, orange and lemon, marvellous fraicheur, never-ending, dreamy finish. Magical, weightless, it floats. Ruht in sich.
