Pale and ethereal in the glass, like an old dog who is your friend. Past it's prime, but loved nevertheless. The beautiful french pinot character was there as a hint and it was enough to be enjoyed with dinner, but nothing left on the finish. I wish we'd been able to drink this a couple of years ago, I'm sure it would have been stellar.

Popped and poured. Ah somewhat bizarre nose at first, at best I’d describe it as a ‘pinot funk’ but in a rather, well stinky way. Time though, seemed to round things out a bit in the glass, as it morphed back into a funk I could know and understand. Pretty floral aromas as well. The palate clearly shows this wine is a few years past its prime time, as the tannins are completely gone, making the wines acidity stick out a bit more than it should. Yet, there was enjoyment to be found here, as flavors of decaying leaves, orange peel, spice and small bursts of cherry still made the wine quite drinkable not to mention pleasurable. Not a great finish by any means, but good enough. I had slightly higher expectations, given the year, the producer, and the ‘Reserve” moniker, but it just wasn’t to be. Still it was a treat and fun to try.

Alas, this wine is dead. There's some faint floral and sandalwood on the nose, but in the mouth, it's thin and tart.
