Served blind, from a magnum, bit of age, salted cabbage, lovely aged wine, guessed CdN, thought a 96, a favourite tonight, a touch lean, excellent, at its peak

Initially a bit lean but continued to put on weight and filled up over 2 hours lunch. Advanced in color, almost look like a wine from 80s or 90s. Clean floral nose, tannins mostly resolved. More like ‘93 Burg than ‘02 Burg with slightly elevated acidity. Enjoyable bottle. Lunch at St Pierre, good restaurant, foods and services were certainly Michelin 2 Star standard. Seared Scallop starter and Yamanashi Peach desert were fantastic.

The initial smell is of a strawberry patch.... squishy berries, black earth and plant matter. It is mid-weight in the mouth and silky against the gums. The red fruits have that just dusted with icing sugar flavour that most of the '02's possess. A pretty, delicious drink that slid down a treat.

This is doing very well now. Aromatic , silky with nicely moderated pinot red fruits carrying hints of flowers, hints of truffles and hints of plums. A well rounded and balanced expression of morey.
