  • Unfortunately I read the reviews before I had tasted the wine. I was expecting some sort of a train wreck..... not so.
Initially I got blood orange, milk chocolate (like a Terry's orange only sharper) violets and a hint of petrol, and of course black fruit. Not all bad , perhaps not award winning but completely worthy of an honest 89 rating.
After a proper decant and airing - the flavours have integrated nicely. Obvious blackberry and coco but a distinct preponderance of deep over ripe citrus. Juicy orange that has sat out in the sun for a few hours and a floral component. Pretty cool!
I have grown out of Sirahs and haven't purchased any for over a decade, but I am finding that they do age and more importantly "evolve" in really interesting ways.
Really nice creamy-milk chocolate , dark fruit and ripe orange balance!
If I have said it once I have said it a bout 30 times .... This is why we carefully cellar our wines, exactly for this experience.
    Enough said.

  • It is a nice wine, certainly; well balanced, mature, blackish, a proper glass of wine, lacks only the sense of place, the soul. Not sure if I could have placed this in the Northern Rhône, if tasting blind...

  • Not a great bottle, a lot of rubber, dark fruit, disjointed, not holding up well.

  • Olives, graphite, black fruits. Soft, mature, low acid, bitter, medium length.

  • Tasted blind. Dark ruby-crimson. Toasted almonds, bright red fruit on the nose. A bit grassy, with fine tannins.
