* From Magnum Nice motor oil hughs in a thick and creamy body. This wine is all about melded oak creme with hints of nuts in a plush and comfy wine. Lacks the acidity to have the vibrancy to score higher or have a bright future. I'd say this is just as good as its going to get. DRINK

From a magnum. Opened for several hours in the bottle. Given my experience with some older DuMOL Chardonnays over the past week, I'd say 6-10 years is probably the ideal window. This wine was fresh and bright, with great acidity, and delivered some lovely complex flavors of apricot, vanilla, buttered toast, and more. Long finish. Drink now or hold for next several years.

Awesome bottle! The nose filled the entire room with its scent and on the palate it was just over the top wave after wave of flavor. Spice, floral, minerals it retained a sense of being (lightness) that never fell into heavy, sickly plodding ordinary Cali-Chardonnay-ness although make no mistake, this is a big big wine. Tasted a year ago with similar results although the extra age really tied this wine together. Nice.

94-95: surprisingly youthful, although mature; tropical notes but predominantly stone fruit present. Oak persisted, and probably was a touch strong, acid still nice. Overall, a tremendous chardonnay. Followed Krug, and held its own.

Not quite as good as the Isobel from the same year, but a fantastic wine nonetheless.
