Opened to breathe for 4h, slow ox. Cedar, baking spices, cordial. On the palate a burst of bright red fruit, tongue curling cotton tannins, cedar, and a long satisfying finish. At peak 1-2h after opening, when the fruit and spices were peaking. Now the acid profile is dominating, still excellent, but now really needs food. Overall a satisfying and complex Barolo that paired well tonight with grilled skirt steak and green beans.

Copper edge, light core; soy on the nose, some noticeable new oak, seemed aged- especially for a Barolo only 10 years old (but '03 should be a prematurely ageing vintage), very ripe, dried red fruit, med+ tannin, decent acid. Didn't love some of the characteristics in this Barolo, but it has the class of a good cru which you have to respect.

Excellent classical style Barolo with a defined nose, nice structure and pallet with a medium long finish. Slightly too young but definitely in drinking window. Wait one or two more years for next bottle.

Opened to breathe for 30 min. Classy Barolo with opulent berry fruit oak and tannins. Good but my third favorite WOTN.

Piemonte (mainly Barolo tasting) (at Adina's): P&P
dark translucent red-brown
acetone-earthy nose with roasted cherries notes
medium bodied, soft tannins, ripe roasted cherries, nice fruity flavours, tobacco, liquorice, lean-structured, acetone, truffles, light oak-vanilla, short finish and aftertaste
