Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • So I bought a cellar; 11/12/2022-12/31/2030: This one was definitely over the hill, but fun to try. The fill level was slightly low - and when I pulled the fully saturated cork I could see why. There was no seepage, but the cork was full of wine. And nasty and moldy at the top. Needed a Durand, but used a waiter’s cork screw with an ah so, and got it out in two pieces. Poured into a decanter to strain, and there was some red, but most of the color was gone and it was brown-ish. Barely any fruit, and lots of old leather, wet leaves, etc. I think this is a 1979, from my CT label research, but the vintage part of the label had been scraped off from storage.
