OK, had this with pork chops tonight and, amazingly, this is still as good as ever. I am down to one bottle of this and wish I had another case. I don't know if 2001 was an unusually good vintage for Cuvaison or not, but I am not enough of a believer that I will seek out other vintages from this outstanding Napa Valley producer. Still plenty of fruit after all these years but the (very) understated tannins are like silk. Wow...

I must have had more luck than rjonas did, as I had another bottle of Cuvaison 2001 Pinot Noir on 7/23 and thought it was still in great shape. Had it with salmon and a remoulade sauce and it ROCKED. Glad I still have two bottles left, but I will enjoy them both within the next year.

The 2001 is still drinking beautifully on 1/1/2007. Plenty of lively fruit and Carneros terroir. Properly stored, I can see no reason why this vintage wouldn't still be showing well into the beginning of 2008. Perfect accompaniment to salmon with rosemary and garlic.
