2002 Burgundy, round 2 (Noize): Much more delicate than its flight-mates (not all Grivot is built like a truck!), with more acidity and a fair bit of perfume. Clean and refreshing, slightly salty, with some red fruit showing itself eventually. Shortish, somewhat drying finish. No need to rush over my remaining two bottles, although unclear whether the wine will fill out a little (which I'd like it to).

Disappointing. Clean clear colour, but surprisingly light for an NSG 1er Cru. Tart on the nose; tart, tannic and a hint of caramel on the palate. Relatively short, and not very enjoyable. Shows no signs of improvement over several hours. Is 2002 generally becoming problematic? Certainly I have had a deal more pleasure from several 2001 wines than from those of 2002.

This has come on a lot since my last bottle in 2019, and feels in its drinking window now. The acid remains on the prominent side but now feels much more integrated. Attractive notes of rose, cherry and soy - there's a little tertiary development now. Will try another bottle in a year or two's time.

NSG Central Tasting (Chicago): Black cherry and spice nose that gains intensity with time in the glass. Good volume of rich, concentrated red and black cherry. Some spice intensity as the Vosne producer signature tries to eek through. Solid if down the middle bottle. Good balance and should hold fine for 5-10 years.

Nuits St Georges 1er "Central" Tasting (Chicagoland IL): Fleshy in the style of the vintage, but slightly lacking the density of a top 1er Cru in a good vintage. Others enjoyed this more tonight.
