  • a heavy weighted Riesling. Thick, huge ripe fruit of ripe apples, mealy peaches and pears. The acidity is still there but this wine smells and feels baroque. I couldn't believe that this wine should have only 12% Alc. But overall - especially if somebody likes not this primary fruity and accessible style of Riesling - this wine will be interesting.

  • Light straw color and clear. An elegant style and has aged much better than the 1989 Josmeyer Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Hengst. A smooth wine with notes of peach and solid minerality without any heat. The finish faded a little which prevented this from reaching the outstanding category; but, still enjoyable and an excellent example of how an Alsatian ages. 88-89.
