  • Opened, poured a glass and let sit for 30 minutes. Color was dull red brick; nose was dark cherry, oak, cedar, pine, strawberry; taste was bright cola (pretty intense over first hour), baking spices, baked cherry; nice smooth mouthfeel, a little jammy at times with food (not a bad thing) and medium finish; good acid that didn't fade after several hours, medium finish.

Vineyard is at the intersection of Olivet Land and River Road in the RRV. Driven down River Road dozens of times and it's always fun to be able to picture exactly where a wine started. This is only my second Arista Pinot, both of different vineyards and different vintages, but both were really enjoyable and well-made. Now open for 3 hours and it's continuing to evolve. Very nice wine.

  • Good concentration of red fruit and RRV cola and warm earth on nose, also a nice floral element. Black cherry, hard spice and pine resin woven together with nice complexity. Good structure with nice acid and smooth tannins. Long finish. Great with duck. 2RG
