The wine was paired with Chicken Milanese and was drank out of a Conterno Sensory glass.
The wine was decanted for 1 hour and poured back into the bottle. It was drank at 61+ degrees. It might have showed a little better if it was consumed closer to 55 degrees.
The color is a darker ruby red. The aromas are of red fruits and spices. Upon the initial sip, I was hit with spice and herb flavors. In addition, the flavors were rounded out with cherries and earth tones. The finish was medium with medium+ acidity.
It's a very nice wine but I prefer the Mononi with a little more age. I preferred the 2014 and 2015 Mononi's over this 2016. It may garner another point or 2 with some age. In the end, it's a nice wine but not a great wine, at least not yet. However, I don't think it has the makings to become one of the great Arista's.

Didn’t show quite as well as my last bottle a year ago. Still nice fruit but there’s a dry almost austere quality to it that is slightly off putting. Hold.

Nose is full of dried cherries and vanilla, slightly sweet. Color is a translucent purple, wine looks lovely. One taste and the wine is still light w that cherry and small pepper notes. Finish is medium to long. I’d say there probably a couple more years left on this but it’s drinking very well now.

Dark for a Pinot. Somewhat subdued, but deep, red fruit nose. Smooth, big, slightly sweet mouth feel with good acidity. (14,1% alcohol contributes to sweetness and body). Good, with moderate complexity but lacks the brightness and nuance to excel.

Intense sweet strawberries on the nose, followed by red licorice. Full-bodied but not overtly hot. Decent underlying acidity to keep this in balance.
