Based on prior notes, I’m pleasantly surprised. This bottle is clearly on the backend of its life but still shows well. I’m pleased. That said, I’m glad I pulled the cork now. It is a great reminder to drink the bottles that are getting long in the tooth.

21 Grams Vertical: 2005-2016. (Home, Portland OR): 21 Grams Vertical: 2005-2016. Cork fell apart in the neck so I had to decant/strain and fish out the chunks, then funnel back into the bottle. Showing some bricking. Flavors of mature cabernet; boysenberry and plum fruit with a lot of tobacco and earth. This one slid the most after it was open for a while, turning somewhat port-like in flavor toward the end of the bottle. Past it's prime for sure, but still drinking well.

Part of a vertical tasting that included 2005 through 2010, very disappointing for the ageability of all years.
This was the other standout of the lineup. Still has a hint of its original vibrancy but that is diminishing quickly. If you have any left, now is the time to drink it.

Was expecting a 15-20 year wine based on previous tasting, no luck. Doing better than the '06 vintage but drink this year. Has marked color shift and adding raisin/prunes on the palate. Bought at the winery and in my cellar that day, storage was not an issue.
