  • This was a nice surprise. I have so many odd forgotten bottles like this in my cellar.
The nose is mineral and slightly earthy - even musty - and medicinal, very Nuits. But there is nice pure black raspberry fruit behind.
On the palate it’s ripe but remarkably fresh, more of that fruit with an attractive sweet, slightly confit quality. Quite rich on the finish, still plenty of acidity. Some alcoholic heat but it doesn’t detract much (I drank this straight out of the cellar).
This is a bit musty and disjointed but the fruit quality and palate presence make it very pleasurable to drink.

  • Not particularly impressed for a 1er Cru. Medium ruby color, showing little evolution, restrained nose with some red fruit, light to medium body with resolved tannins and red fruit, relatively short finish. Not worth the USD60 paid a few years ago
