  • A Bordeaux Delight: Subtle Complexity in Every Sip

I recently had the pleasure of indulging in this exceptional 85 Bordeaux, and it truly left a lasting impression. This wine effortlessly showcased the qualities that make Bordeaux wines so revered: complexity, character, and a captivating depth of flavors.

The first thing that caught my attention was its remarkable color. The wine displayed a deep, rich hue, hinting at its maturity and promising a sensory journey. As I gently swirled it in my glass, I couldn't help but appreciate the elegance it exuded.

Upon taking the first sip, I was greeted by an intricate array of flavors that danced across my palate. The wine offered a symphony of notes, carefully intertwined to create a harmonious blend. Its subtlety was striking, allowing each component to shine without overpowering the others.

The complexity of this Bordeaux was truly exceptional. Layers of dark berries, plums, and cherries unfolded gracefully, followed by hints of tobacco, cedar, and earthiness. These elements played off each other, enhancing the overall tasting experience and leaving a lasting impression.

To elevate this already remarkable wine, I decided to pair it with wagyu meat. The combination was a match made in heaven. The wine's tannic structure and balanced acidity complemented the rich, melt-in-your-mouth texture of the wagyu, creating an exquisite gastronomic experience. The flavors intertwined, resulting in an extraordinary synergy that enhanced both the wine and the dish.

In conclusion, this 85 Figeac proved to be a wine lover's delight. Its complex character, great color, and subtle intricacy showcased the craftsmanship behind its creation. Whether enjoyed on its own or paired with exquisite dishes like wagyu meat, this Bordeaux stood out as a testament to the excellence of the vintage. If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend experiencing this wine for yourself—it's an indulgence worth savoring.

  • I was not very convinced about the appearance of the foil and cork but I have to admit that this bottle was a fantastic surprise. Drank from the bottle without decanting over approximately 4 hours. During the last two this wine definitely opened its bouquet of berries, dirt and spices. Medium complexity, excellent texture and balanced acidity. A favorite for meaty dishes. I have two more bottles of this beauty, happy to explore them soon, even though this wine will be extremely good for another 5-10 years.
