  • BBQ mid Mar 2010: classic rubin color; restrained aromas/flavors like cassis, cherry and some cedar; surprisingly with a medium/full body and slightly angular texture.

Behaved more like a 5-10 year than a +30 year old wine.

  • Wine opened fine, cork was okay. Typical smell of aged wine. Medium bodied, well integrated tannins, still there but more or less in the background. Not decanted, empty after 2 hours. Had a good meal with four persons and as this was the second bottle (first bottle see my tasting note of Chateau Gazin 1976) of the evening we did not make too much of a theatre about the opening of the bottle. After 2 hours the smell of oxidation became slightly present. All in all a nice aged wine, not more but at the price tag of 12 Euro (Auction) I would never ever complain... ;-) If you have this wine in the cellar: Drink now!
