Very nice wine with lasagna. Good cherry fruit on the nose and palate. Some smoke adds interest and the merlot adds a little refinement. The upshot is a slightly more elegant wine than you sometimes get with sangio but still a lot of flavor and good structure. Very good to excellent.

Soft, though still has enough linearity to be a great match with food. Good sangiovese fruit and acid but unfortunately I think the merlot (20%) washes it out a bit. I have two more bottles (and many more Palmina reds from 2006 and later) and am in no hurry to drink up.

Night before Father's Day Dinner: This is a great under $20 easy drinking red wine. Great cherry flavors with great amount of acid. This is a very food friendly wine.

I loved this wine. Mostly sangiovese with some merlot, the winery uses the ripasso technique on the grapes, though I'm not sure of the percentage of grapes ripassed. It has a dried fruit quality that I loved, along with a smokey, burnt quality that adds interest without getting overly complex. Good acid to make it food friendly and this kind of structure should improve for another 5 years. I got it for $16 and at that price it was a great buy. Too much more than that and it would start to loose some appeal to me.
