Argentinian Beef Dinner (Boneyard Bistro): Very odd wine. I believe it's just Grenache (80%) and Syrah (20%). Good but doesn't quite feel as balanced as most Albans.

Quick TN: Upon opening, horribly reductive. On the palate, the wine was totally out of balance - burnt rubber/tar, alcohol, acidity. A mess of a wine. Not even drinking with prime strip steaks brought out any redeeming qualities. Saved a little for Day 2 and it was softer but no better.

Very dark inky ruby color with lots of sediment. This wine showed a bit off, maybe from being transported. The nose was a lighter style of the stereotypical "Alban" terrior. A hint of burnt rubber and sulphur on the nose. Interesting, but perhaps in a better year?

WCC Blind Rhone Varietals from Around the World (Salty's Pub, Clifton Park, NY): 80% Grenache, 20% Syrah. Stunning nose. Thick and delicious with loads of harmonious tannin. A very big wine. A total joy to drink. 2 votes for WOTF, including mine.

Lugeresque V: California Table #6 (Pratt's Inn, Yorktown, NY): [Just a sip from Mark's table.] Not as wonderful as the 05 last year, but that same exotic orange fruit. Very unusual and enjoyable.
