Enjoyable bottle. The bouquet was stunning for this vintage. Nose of cinnamon, tobacco, and even slight rose petals deep in the glass. Still firm on the palate with tannic structure. Not even the slightest hint of being over the hill. This could go longer, but why wait. DJV

(A-) Perhaps the wine just needed a bit more time than 6 years, as my experience was different from prior posters. I tasted this one night after drinking a 2000 Barnett Rattlesnake Hill Cab, and found both to be extremely enjoyable wines. Apparently, even in an uneven vintage, Spring Mountain did well, as this 10 year old wine was drinking beautifully. Very smooth, with a lot of spice and vanilla. The alcohol and tannin were tame. The fruit wasn't huge, but it married well with the acid. I got dark fruits. I wouldn't call this "stemmy" in any way. If you have some, drink them now, and enjoy.

Had a different experience than JHNGO in that I enjoyed this wine quite a bit. It was decanted for about an hour prior to drinking with steak and potatoes. Pretty full, not a terribly long finish, but lots of fruit and flavor, density. My style of cab.

($56) Spring Mountain Tasting: Nice nose, particularly for the vintage. Black currant and blackberry fruit. Sweet liqueur. I rather liked this one. Not at the price though

Lots of stemy notes in the finish. No fullness of fruit.
