I loved this wine last time I had a bottle about 3 years ago, but this bottle was well on its way downhill, and showed its faded glory reasonably well. Pale amber with a definite oxidative sherry smell. Limey citrus, dry, firm and austere, but not exhibiting the lovely nougat and honey tones for which I was hoping.

Taste: Very dry on the palate. Weightier on the mouth. A mineral streak, white fruits and a refined austerity to it. A pithy mid-palate. QUite thought provoking wine. But I don't know if I like or dislike it. My first Savennieres, and a 13 year old one at that!

The best of the natural white wines flight. Lemon-gold with an evolved TBA reminiscent nose slightly ''lifted'' with honey, pollen, quince, dried apricots together with some notes of VA. Dry on palate with medium full body that is well balanced by vigorous acidity. Pretty long mid-palate with persistent finish. Reaveals complexity. Overall evolved and well-delineated.

Blind Tasting Group - 2nd Session (Orchard Parade Hotel - Tung Lok Classic): Nose: Very interesting nose. Intense nose of nuts, hay, flowers, caramel, lychees and melons.

Awesome honey and cooked apple aroma. Plenty of body. Great fresh acidity. A really interesting wine.
