  • The tricky vintage shows through, especially with air time but the Bertheau style does make an impact here; as a friend puts it: they are like whispers. A very lithe impression of campfire smoke, autumn leaves, incense, clove, medicinal elements including cough syrup. A lovely orange top note comes through to bring precision to the celery/beetroot flavors through to the finish. A bit lean overall but there is a lovely drinkability here. Oddly enough, this goes into an odd musty stage within 20-30 minutes and then reopens to show some lovely sous bois, beef stock elements with a spicy citrus character. Classic Chambolle. 90+
