Not bad for what it is. Good color, rather strange, funky nose with a whiff of alcohol. Not overly fruity, medium bodied, a little weak at midpalate, fairly short finish. Not a lot of Cabernet character, more like a generic red wine, but easy drinking and not offensive. Not past it yet, but would not keep much longer. Better wines at this price level.

Nose: Sage, currants, cedar, bit of vanilla and tobacco leaf. Palate: Currants, soy, licorice on the attack. No shortage of tannins on the mid-palate, a bit too drying, followed by sweet currants on the finish and a hint of toasty oak. The overall palate is tinged by a sage, green-ish element.
On day 1, the sage elements were so prominent that I had to look at the label to make sure this didn't include some syrah, but lo and behold, it is all cab from 2 vineyards. I have to say that I wasn't really feeling this cab at all on day 1 - angular, a little tart, weird non-cab elements, not showing much. Day 2 however, this wine has managed to redeem itself. I still wouldn't peg it as all cab, but the structure and pronounced fruit give this wine a lot more character than it had on day 1. I've spent a lot of words describing my experience with this wine, only because I do feel that it is worth the $15 I paid for it... but give it an extended decant or some time in your cellar.

For this price, a good wine if you seek easy drinking wine without being fruitjuce with alcohol. Relatively good concentration, fresh enough and good balanced. Cab sauv aromas, round and easy.
