Opened and decanted for 2-3 hours and this was singing. Leather, dark berries, nuance, loads of tannin but well integrated. Early in its drinking window this has a ton of life left. Only got more nuanced with more air. Best glass was the last.

this was a very nice, but also very four square Barolo... only on night two later in the evening did any complexity appear... I'm think I should box up my other two bottles and try again in a decade... classic Piedmonte wine... needs decades -- I used to say 20 yrs minimum, this make me think 30 minimum

Sported plenty of the classic Barolo strawberry-raspberry flavors on the palate, which was gorgeous - but never really gained the weight you would expect.

OMG, I love wines with lift and high acidity but this literally burned my throat and gut (over three days!)... not sure, might have simply been a weird several days with my gut biome / acid sensitivity (cuz I did notice same a bit -- but nothing like this bottle -- with my white burg)... hoping this goes away -- either the wine or my gut issue... NR as not sure what happened

(Poderi Aldo Conterno Barolo Cicala) Orangey red violet color; big, rich nose with chocolate, cherry, a little jammy like a big Zin; tasty, rich, ripe plum palate with good body, complexity, sweet tannins; long finish (decanted for 3 hours)
